About the team
We are a team of educational consultants led by Patrick Mies, Ph.D and skilled in special education, general education, school administration, instruction, school law, and behavior. We provide educators with the necessary skills to address the achievement gap for students receiving general and special education services. We partner with school districts, charter schools, and parochial schools in Michigan to provide instructional leaders with the tools required to meet the needs of ALL learners. We seek to improve student learning, climate and culture, organizational efficiency, graduation rates, and teacher effectiveness.
About Dr. Mies
Dr. Patrick Mies has more than two decades of success as a special educator, high school assistant principal, principal, and special education director. As an instructor at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he teaches pre-service general educators about research-based instructional strategies to use with students with exceptionalities in general education settings. He is a firm believer in the importance of cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with students and families as a method of propelling student achievement.
Dr. Mies holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Eastern Michigan University in the area of Educational Leadership. His dissertation is entitled "An Investigation of how IEP teams function in select Michigan high schools when developing a course of study decision for students with disabilities.”
